It is currently connected using a serial console because i'm lacking a keyboard and monitor for it. I've tried several things to try and make it boot, including:
- Removing disks and additional SBUS cards
- Trying to break into it using serial
- Trying to set the serial port from RS422 to RS232
UPDATE(15-07-2004 17:49): After receiving an Sun Keyboard from Stefan and using L1-N (Stop-N) the nvram has been resetted to factory defaults and i'm getting OpenBoot on my serial console! Issue resolved! There seems to be a way to recover it but it involves hotswapping NVRAM modules and I really don't like doing that on a live system. There is also no output on the network card and no errors on the serial port besides the messages as shown above.
The serial null-modem cable is working as I've been using it for ages on my Sun Ultra 60. The other way of recovering it seems to consist of attaching a Sun keyboard and using L1-N to reset it to defaults. A co-worker will take his Sun keyboard to work tomorrow so we can try this procedure.
UPDATE(15-07-2004 07:33) : I received an email from someone who has experienced the same problem. His problem was that the SIMMS where installed in the wrong banks and causing this issue. As far as I can see the SIMMS are installed in the right banks according the documentation, the documentation however states that the POST should report errors as the POST displays information on serial output but Open(Boot|Firmware) does not.
