Yes! We're going to Lowlands this year! Tickets bought (228 euros!), plans made... ready to go... It's a shame we still have to wait about 6 months before we can go :(

Kirsten and me are really anxious to go to Lowlands. First time for me, second time for Kirsten who went last year (pictures here) , together with a large group. I'm sure we are going to enjoy ourselves at Lowlands 2004 :)

Another build of Mozilla for Solaris/sparc has been build by me this morning. It's version 1.7a and has been compiled on my Sun Ultra 60 using GCC 3.3. It can be found here

It's a 32-bit version using a default Solaris Install with the default Sun Freeware packages and the additional Sun Freeware GCC package.

Ok, you always wondered why everybody was pushing you to disable telnet on your APC masterswitch or firewall/acl it to eternity ? Well this is why!

There is a backdoor in the APC masterswitch that enables you to read the memory segments of the masterswitch and thus enable you to ''recover'' the unencrypted password from the memory of the switch!

So guys and girls, go firewall your APC MS ;)

Well, remember when I said I would be seeing Kirsten Sunday Evening.. Well sorry, I was lying.. It was Sunday Morning, but Kirsten was to be kept in the dark :) Thanks to iKriz I gave her a nice surprise, suddenly showing up behind her without her knowing... Her reaction was priceless.... *astonished* *grasp* :)

I'm so happy now :) Guys, surprise your girl, it's definately worth it. Oh and btw valentine is coming up ;) Keeping it a secret ;)

A phonecall with your girl can be such a wonderful thing, until you have to hang up, you want to keep talking, but you also have to hang up for some reason. Dillemma it is :( I found it one of the most horrible feelings, saying goodbye to the one you love. But if you know that she loves you too (which is the best feeling imho) it should be less hard, but still it's hard :(

Waking up and seeing a SMS message of your girlfriend that is soo sweet, lovely and hartwarming is probably the best way of waking up after waking up beside her.

Waking up and seeing that it's 9:00 instead of 7:00 is also nice, but only if you have the day off. Having the day off and still going to work, what does that mean ?

a) you're a workaholic
b) you have a passion for your work
c) you want to get the day over quickly

Today it was b and c :) I enjoyed working today really really much, and the day was over very quickly so it's even quicker to sunday evening. Sunday evening I'll be seeing Kirsten again :)

Life is great! But only if you make it that way.

Phonebills... They only seem to be getting higher lately, however the reason why they are getting higher is a nice one.. Kirsten ;)

Phone Companies should not advertise with cheap telephones to increase there income, they should supply every guy with a girlfriend! It got me to upgrade my debitel-90 contract to a debitel-150 contract. And at the looks of my last phonebill I'm doing myself a favor to upgrade it again. But I don't want to for one reason and that's I want to get rid of debitel and get vodafone directly instead. Why? Better service and I'm probably cheaper of then upgrading my account everytime now. Also I want decent GPRS on my phone so I can internet from my powerbook (yes apple+ericsson+bluetooth rocks your ass).

But there is one drawback my contract ends in a few months so I rather upgrade now to save some costs and then move my number to vodafone and be happy. So I just upgraded my account to a debitel-210 contract. With my current phonebill it would be 35 euro's cheaper. Well that's worth it as I'm almost completely trough my 150 minutes :) Oh and another plus at vodafone is SMS bundles 58 SMS messages last month (another whopping 11 euro's)

Today at work I once again discovered that Microsoft's ISA Server is a genuine piece of crap. A customer was having some troubles using there telebanking software that uses FTP as means to exchange information. It had always been in working order before, but stopped working at a random moment in time. (more)

I already used to blog on my site before, but well when I moved the site from my home webserver to my colocated webserver it kinda vanished. But now it's back in a new form using movable type! The layout will change in these couple of days whenever I have some sparetime to do it. Very busy at work these days, migrating 250 primary schools from NL.Tree to XS4ALL ADSL. Configuring routers, migrating domains etc...

But well, the new machine my website and this blog is running on is the following box:

Nice upgrade if you consider it to the old box, it only serves webpages and runs Kuess and my irssi. It used to have an uptime that matched the day Kuess and I got involved, but due to an UPS failure today that story is unfortunately no longer true (the uptime part that is, I'm still madly in love with Kuess ;)

This machine now hosts all webpages that where previously hosted on tooske. I'm sorry to tell that almost all babe movies are gone. The ones that remain are available here. The pictures are still online and can be found here. Also the Tamara Brinkman site at tamarabrinkman.nl does no longer exist! However the Tamara Brinkman pictures are available here! (more)

Mijn professionele interesses gaan vooral uit naar UNIX-computeromgevingen en internetwerken. Binnen mijn werk ben ik verantwoordelijk voor een set UNIervers en een internetwerk met diverse koppelingen naar andere internetproviders.

In mijn vrije tijd luister ik graag muziek (waar ik dan ook een hele stapel van verzameld heb), kijk ik films en skate ik graag wat rondjes door de stad. Daarnaast surf ik zoals iedere nerd wel wat rond op het internet en IRC hoort daar uiteraard ook bij. Ik ben dan ook te vinden op IRCNet, UnderNet, OFTCNet en QuakeNet onder de nickname 'Dimmu'. Zoals je kunt zien ben ik artistiek een loser, hopelijk kan ik Barth nog eens pushen om eens iets in elkaar te brassen wat wel aanschouwbaar is
