Areca CLI issues on 2.6.15-mm4

As dropkick has an Areca ARC-1120 controller I ofcourse needed kernel support for it. Most of the Linux machines with Areca's we use at work are running the -mm tree, because it has the areca driver as a default driver option, and contains some additional patches for the areca card.

Unfortunately it seems that 2.6.15-mm4 has some problems when you try to use the CLI tool from Areca (any version). It just oopses and asks you gently to reboot the machine. I saw that in 2.6.16-rc*-mm* there are some updates for the Areca driver which may fix this issue. I'll try this kernel version when I'm at work again (tuesday). If this will not fix the issue, I'll be going for a stock 2.6.15.X kernel with the individual Areca patch.

New server!

My weblog is now hosted on my new server! The new server name is dropkick

It has the following specifications:
The disks are in a RAID-5 setup for reliability (I started hating failing disks after 3 Maxtor disks died in one week). It's running Debian GNU/Linux instead of Solaris (which ran on Polaris).

I moved the webserver to Apache 2. It currently also serves all my other websites and my mailserver (which I moved off phoebe towards this one)
